Britain: Why is the Labor Party bowing in front of Hindu voters?
The main opposition Labor party in Britain is caught in a new controversy. When the controversy of asking British Hindus to vote for the party in the general elections caught fire, the party had to be cleaned up.
At its annual conference, the Labor Party had passed a resolution condemning India’s action on the Kashmir issue and the Hindu community has been very angry about it.
It was even called ‘anti-India’ and ‘anti-Hindu’. After criticizing an institution of Hindus, the Labor Party has distanced itself from the condemnation proposal.
For decades, there has been a dispute between India and Pakistan over Kashmir as both countries consider it as their share.
Last summer, India abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370, which gave Kashmir many special rights, including keeping its own flag.
After this, the members of the Labor Party passed a resolution at the party conference held in September last and said that a humanitarian crisis has arisen in the disputed area and the people of Kashmir should be given the right to self-determination.
This created resentment among British Indians, most of whom are Hindus.
Umesh Chandra Sharma, chairman of the Hindu Council UK told media that most Hindus were very upset and angry with the Labor Party’s stance and that the council was against it.
WhatsApp propaganda against Labor Party
The council describes itself as politically neutral. He said that the work of the organization is to protect Hindu interests.
Umesh Chandra Sharma claimed that a few people who used to vote for the Labor Party will now vote for the Conservative Party because of this issue.
He said, “They are going to vote for the Tories, in this case, they are very clear, but there is no one in it. They are openly saying so.”
The Times of India recently reported that foreign friends of the ruling party BJP in India would encourage the Labor Party not to vote in places where there would be a thorn contest, which would have an impact on the mid-term general elections in Britain on 12 December May be required.
Messages are being sent to Hindus all over Britain to vote for the Conservative Party.
One message read, “The Labor Party blindly supported the propaganda of Pakistan on the issue of Article 370 in Kashmir. The Labor Party is against India, but not the Conservative Party.”
These messages have come from Hindu organizations as well as individual Hindus and people of Indian origin.
Labor Party candidate Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi in Salo recently appealed to members of the Hindu and Sikh community to “not fall prey to the political rhetoric of religious the fundamentalism that wants to divide our community and keep spreading lies on WhatsApp” Huh. “
Now Labor Party Chairman Ian Lavery has assured the Hindus that the party is fully aware of the current situation in Kashmir and its sensitivity.
“We believe that the language used in the proposal presented in the emergency has hurt the sentiments of some sections of the Indian community and of India itself,” he said.
“There is a firm pledge that communities living in Britain should not be allowed to stand against each other because of deep realization and Genuine differences on the Kashmir issue,” he said.
He said that the party’s official stand was that “Kashmir is an island-wide issue between India and Pakistan and both should resolve it in a peaceful manner so as to protect the human rights of the Kashmiri people and respect their right to decide their future.
He further said that the Labor Labor Party “has been opposing external interference in the political affairs of any other country and the Kashmir issue will not accept the anti-India or anti-Pakistan stance”.
According to official figures, there are close to one million Hindus in the UK and over 30 lakh Muslims.
According to research by the Runimedi Trust, in 2015 and 2017, the Labor Party was the most popular among the racial voters. In the year 2017, 77 per cent of them voted for the Labor Party.
This report stated that one in five Labour voters were a racial voter, while one in 20 people who voted for the Conservatives were from these communities.
General elections will be held in Britain on 12 December
British MPs have voted in favour of holding the general election on 12 December.
Elections will now be held in Britain on 12 December and the results will also come on 13 December.
In this way, the plan to hold the election of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on December 12 with a majority of 418 votes was successful.
This will be Britain’s third general election in the last five years.
This will be the first time after the year 1923 when the elections are held in Britain in December.
Johnson reached a step closer to his plan when lawmakers supported his proposal through an ideological vote.
Labor MPs wanted the elections to be held on 9 November. The party says that due to the elections on December 9, it will be easier for university students to vote because by then the academic session will be going on.
Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said, “I have been consistently saying that we are ready for an early election.”
Earlier, MPs had opposed his proposal thrice and stopped it from moving forward.
British and Indian restaurant businessmen are worried because of Brexit
British media says that what will happen next in the direction of Brexit will depend on the December 12 election and its results.
If the current Prime Minister Boris Johnson manages to win a majority in the upcoming election, then he will separate from the European Union on his own terms.
If any other party wins or another Prime Minister becomes the Prime Minister, then it is possible that he should propose a second referendum on the issue of Brexit before Britain.
There is also the possibility of Britain leaving the EU without any agreement, but many people, businessmen and MPs say that next year if Britain exits the EU without any agreement then its Britain Will have a negative impact on the economy.
