Most Bollywood stars stay away from Modi’s initiative to discuss CAA

Demonstrations are being held continuously in many states of the country demanding the withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Act. The fire of protest started in Assam gradually spread throughout the country after this bill was introduced in Parliament in December. Home Minister Amit Shah has refused to withdraw the CAA. The Modi government is making people aware of the aspects related to it through rallies, public meetings and social media. The Union Minister is telling through a press conference that opposition parties are roaming political loaves for the benefit of this law. Modi government minister Piyush Goyal and BJP national vice president Jay Panda on Sunday invited Bollywood stars to a discussion on CAA at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.

BJP invited many stars for the program but only a few stars reached there. There were speculations since Sunday morning that many big faces of the film world including Javed Akhtar, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushman Khurana, Raveena Tandon, Kangana Ranaut, Boney Kapoor and Madhur Bhandarkar would attend the event but it did not happen. Bhushan Kumar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Ramesh Taurani, Rahul Rawail, Prasoon Joshi, Shaan, Kailash Kher, Ranvir Shorey, Urvashi Rautela and Anu Malik arrived at the event. Actress Richa Chadha and filmmaker Kabir Khan were also invited to the event but did not arrive. Swara Bhaskar, Anurag Kashyap, Sushant Singh and Nikhil Advani were not invited. An artist present at the event said, ‘I expected many stars to come but it did not happen. The purpose of the program was to remove the confusion about CAA. Wrong information about the citizenship law is being circulated and this program was kept to remove them. It is being told that in future, many such programs will be organized by the Modi government for people connected to different areas.

According to the report, the top stars of Bollywood have been invited to meet with Union Minister of Railway Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in Mumbai. It is believed that this a meeting has been called to discuss the disputed Citizenship Amendment Act.

In the midst of demonstrations against the CAA and NRC across the country, a meeting was organized in an attempt to get the support of the top stars of the central government Bollywood. Bollywood celebrities met Union Minister of Railway Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt Hotel. The meeting was called to discuss the disputed Citizenship Amendment Act.

The names of industry-renowned artists like Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Kabir Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Vicky Kaushal and Ayushman Khurana were included in the list of this meeting. The agenda of this meeting was to address the ongoing rumours about the Citizenship Amendment Act. However, singers like Kunal Kohli, Abhishek Kapoor, CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, music director Anu Malik, actress Urvashi Rautela, film producers Vipul Shah, Kailash Kher and Shaan and actors like Ranveer Shorey, Shailesh Lodha and Rahul Rawail attended the meeting. Apart from this, Bhushan Kumar, MD of TCeries also appeared in this event.

At the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai, CAA was disputed on every voice and every issue of Bollywood, and amidst many rumours on this law, an attempt was made to create a democratic discussion with Bollywood stars. After this special dinner was also arranged. Explain that after getting information about this meeting, some people reached outside the Hotel Grand Hyatt with placards to register their protest. These people were protesting against this meeting.

Significantly, some time ago a selfie with PM Modi’s Bollywood stars went viral. In this picture, the top stars of the industry were seen with PM Modi which included many stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ayushman Khurana, Ekta Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, Rajkumar Rao, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar.

Significantly, where the stars like Anurag Kashyap, Javed Akhtar, Anubhav Sinha, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, Swara Bhaskar, Renuka Shahane, Farhan Akhtar have protested about CAA law, Priyanka Chopra, Rajkumar on Jamia’s violence between police and students Stars like Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal were also criticized. However, no mainstream star has openly supported this law.
