In response to Bahujan Samaj Party’s party leader in the Lok Sabha, Danish Ali said, “If Pragya Thakur calls Nathuram Godse a patriot, then our Prime Minister should answer this.”

He said, “Are our Prime Ministers of this country feeling so weak that after their repeated warnings, the members are making such statements.

Recently, Pragya Thakur’s name also came up in controversies when she was included in the 21-member Parliamentary Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Defense.

The Congress termed it an insult to the country. Pragya Singh Thakur is an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. She is currently out on bail for health reasons.

Even before this, Pragya Singh Thakur had accused Nathuram Godse of killing Mahatma Gandhi as a patriot, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that he would never be able to forgive her for his statement.

BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has been a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

She had won the Lok Sabha elections this year from Bhopal. She defeated veteran Congress leader Digvijay Singh. She was also in controversies about her statements.

The bomb blast between Anjuman Chowk and Bhiku Chowk in Malegaon, Maharashtra, at 9.35 pm on September 29, 2008, in front of Shakeel Goods Transport, killed six people and injured 101 people.

A motorcycle was used in this blast. According to the NIA report, this motorcycle was in the name of Pragya Thakur.

In this case, the NIA court granted surety to Pragya Thakur but did not consider her guilty and in his order in December 2017, said that Pragya will continue to be tried under UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act).

Pragya Thakur was also accused of murdering Samjhauta Express blast accused Sunil Joshi. Joshi was assassinated on 29 December 2007.

Pragya Thakur’s name also came up in the Ajmer Dargah blast case, but in April 2017, the NIA filed a closure report against Pragya Thakur, RSS leader Indresh Kumar and two others in a special court in Rajasthan.

Pragya Thakur has often been in the news for her controversial statements.

After becoming MP this year, she told his workers in Sehore, “Listen carefully, we are not meant to clear the drain.

There was a lot of controversies even when Pragya Thakur took oath as MP in Lok Sabha. Then he took his Guru’s name while taking an oath in Sanskrit.

During an election meeting, Pragya Singh Thakur had said that Hemant Karkare died due to his curse. There was a lot of controversy on this as well.

She later retracted his statement, saying that it was her personal pain that she said. She considers Karkare as a ‘martyr’ as he was killed by the firing of terrorists.
