Savarkar was an apology writer, was not a freedom fighter: Tushar Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson Tushar Gandhi has said that ‘Savarkar was an apology writer, not a freedom fighter.’ Actually, Tushar Gandhi did not just name Savarkar, but Savarkar’s entry in the country’s politics has once again happened. On Saturday (14–12–2019), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party with the name of Savarkar. Read More
In Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, Rahul Gandhi had said in the party’s Bharat Save Bachao rally that “I am Rahul Savarkar and not Rahul Gandhi … I will die but I will not apologize.”
This statement of Rahul Gandhi was later targeted by the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that “Even though Rahul Gandhi takes 100 births, he cannot be Rahul Savarkar.” Savarkar was a ‘heroic’, a patriot and a sacrifice. Rahul Gandhi uses the language of Pakistan on Article 370, airstrikes, surgical strikes and CAB. He cannot be ‘Veer’, cannot be equal to Savarkar. ‘Tusshar Gandhi’s response has come after Savarkar was described as a patriot. Tusshar Gandhi has called Savarkar an apology writer.
Let me tell you that when the BJP in the election in Maharashtra had said in its resolution letter to give Bharat Ratna to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, even then Tusshar Gandhi gave his response to it. Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson Tusshar Gandhi questioned Savarkar’s innocence. He had said that Savarkar was not proved innocent in Gandhi’s murder case. He said that there is a need to understand the motive of the conspiracy to murder Bapu.
Many historians have believed that Savarkar remained a nationalist till 1910 only. This was the time when he was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. After spending nearly ten years in jail, the British authorities proposed to be allied to him, which Savarkar accepted. People who hold this view say that after coming out of jail, Savarkar started promoting Hindu communalism and became a British agent. However, many other historians do not agree with Savarkar.
BJP and Shiv Sena is angry on Rahul Savarkar’s statement
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while referring to his statement of ‘rape in India’ at a rally called in protest against the economic policies of the government in Delhi, again said that he will not apologize for his statement.
He said at Ramlila Maidan, “My name is not Rahul Savarkar. My name is Rahul Gandhi. I will not apologize for the truth. I will die but I will not apologize.”
He said, “Apologies have to be sought by the Prime Minister and his assistant Amit Shah. Earlier the economy was our power … it was not. Earlier, 9% GDP growth rate was there and today we are holding onions.”
Leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena have reacted strongly to Rahul Gandhi’s Savarkar statement.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut tweeted, “Veer Savarkar is the deity of the whole country, not just Maharashtra. Savarkar is national and self-respecting in his name. Like Nehru and Gandhi, Savarkar also sacrificed his life for freedom. Is. Every such deity should be respected. No agreement can be made with this. “
Raut said, “If we believe Pandit Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi, then don’t even insult Veer Savarkar.”
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Savarkar has sacrificed his life for the motherland. He has given everything to him. Using such language for him is an insult to all patriots who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country. Rahul Should apologize to the whole country. “
He tweeted another, “There is no Mahatma Gandhi by having the last name Gandhi. Should apologize to the whole country. “
Union Minister Smriti Irani on Friday targeted Rahul Gandhi on the ‘rape in India’ comment and called it tragic and said that Congress leaders are doing politics on rape. Smriti has urged Rahul’s mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to advise and guide Rahul. Smriti demanded strict action against the former Congress chief. Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally in Jharkhand, while quipping on the Prime Minister’s project ‘Make in India’, said, “Earlier there was ‘Make in India’ but now it has become ‘Rape in India’”.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Irani said how Congress leaders can fall to such an extent, whose remarks mean ‘inviting men to commit rape in India’. Taking a dig at Rahul inside the Lok Sabha, Irani said, “This is the first time in the history of the country that someone from the Gandhi family has had the audacity to insult women and call them rape.” For the first time in history, a leader is loudly saying that Indian women should be raped. Does he mean that every man in India wants to rape women? Is this Rahul Gandhi’s message to the people of the country? “
