World’s most dangerous prison
The 490-bed jail complex is spread over 37 acres. Mainly above the ground. In every closet of 7 times 12 feet, apart from TV, there is a toilet, shower, bed and a table. Everything is made of concrete. The outside viewing window is just a few inches. There are 14,000 remote controlled doors in the entire complex, prisoners are kept in the eye of the camera catching the movement all the time.
Qincheng Prison, China
This prison in Changping area of Beijing, the capital of China, was built in 1958 with the cooperation of Russia. In the 20 sqm rooms, there is only a bed named after the furniture. The doors are made of wood with iron strips on both sides. Food is served in the room and the prisoners go to the specific yard in front of every building to exercise.
HMP Belmarsh, UK
The prison in South East London started in 1991. Usually, people involved in terrorist activities are kept in custody here. It is called the British version of Guantanamo Bay. Camp Delta is a permanent US prison in Guantanamo Bay. The first camp was built here in 2002. There are six different camps to keep prisoners in custody, which have different names. This federal prison of America is in the state of Indiana. Male prisoners are kept here. There is a separate system for every kind of prisoners with different security arrangements in the jail. The more dangerous prisoners are kept alone where they remain under surveillance for 23 hours. In the remaining time, they come together just for food and exercise.
Arthur Road Jail, India
This jail in Mumbai got the status of Central Jail in 1994, but the jail built-in 1926 is still known by the same name. The jail, which has a capacity of 800 prisoners spread over 2 acres, usually houses 2000 prisoners. There is a plan to keep absconding businessman Vijay Mallya in a cell after extradition from London.
Fushun Prison, Japan
Japan’s largest prison in Fushu city housed communist leaders, banned religious leaders and Korean freedom fighters before the end of the Second World War. The jail, spread over 56 acres, houses more than 2000 prisoners. Foreign, mental patients, disabled and common prisoners are kept here separately.
Along with common criminals, some celebrities have also spent days in this infamous jail in the Paris area. The cells are 4 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and three meters high. There is an arrangement to keep a total of 2,000 prisoners in jail. This is the place where a public death sentence was also given in France.
